1.) Eyebright to Cure Pink Eye

Eyebright is also known as Euphrasia Officinalis. It is very effective to treat eye problem like weeping eyes, bloodshot, strained eye and pink eye. It has astringent and antibacterial properties.

  • Boil a cup of water  in a jar and put five drops of eyebright tincture in it. Allow it to cool, then use it as an eyewash.
  • Or you can boil one teaspoon of eyebright herb in a cup of water for about 10 minutes. then allow it to cool.
  • Strain and use this solution as an eye wash.
  • Add rose water if you want and repeat this remedy every four hours.
  • You can  also steep equal parts of eyebright in boiling water.
  • Then cool the solution and strain it, use this solution as an eyewash.
  • Or you can combine two drops of eyebright tincture and two tablespoons of rose water in a lukewarm water and apply it in a compress.
  • You can also drink eyebright tea or take this herb in capsule or tablet form.

2.) Cold and Warm Compresses

Warm compress is one of the best ways to Cure pink eye. It increases the blood circulation and provides relief in pain and swelling. It also prevents further infection to eyes. The cold compress is very effective for burning sensation and infection caused by the allergy.

Warm Compresses

  • Boil a water in a jar.
  • Soak a clean towel in lukewarm water and wring out the excess liquid.
  • Now gently hold the moist towel on your closed eyes for at least 5 minutes.
  • Clean your eyes with a clean and dry cloth and repeat it a few more times.

Cold Compress

  • Place a water soaked cloth in the freezer for half an hour then apply it on your infected eyes for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • While applying a cold compress, do not use the same cloth for both the eyes as the cold compress increases the risk of spreading the infection from one eye to the other.
