1.) Darken the House to Get Rid of Flies

This is one of the most common and widely used methods to remove flies from the house. This method is way better than trying something fancy as it won’t kill them. We all know that flies get attracted towards the light. So, switching off all the lights in your house will automatically force them to leave the area. You have seen a bunch of flies near the street light. Switch off all the lights and keep the porch area illuminated with sodium-vapor lamps. Do not forget to leave the doors open so that the flies can easily escape. This method will surely work but it will take up to twenty minutes to eliminate all the flies. 2.) Vinegar Trap to Get Rid of Flies

Vinegar trap is the easiest method to trap the fruit flies and later you can flush them out of the house. You can use apple cider vinegar or white vinegar to make the trap. Fill a clean jar with vinegar and add few drops of dish wash soap. Cover the top of the jar with a paper or plastic wrap and punch several holes big enough so that flies can easily enter the jar. Place the jar in the area where flies infestation is more. Fruit flies usually get attracted towards vinegar due to its sweet smell. You can also enhance the smell of heating vinegar for some time. The trap will attract the flies and once they get in, they are not smart enough to escape from it. Leave the trap for one or two days and then throw the liquid and fill it up once again.

Alternatively, you can use the white vinegar as a natural fly repellent. Take a bowl and add two cups of white vinegar, one tablespoon eucalyptus oil and one cup of water. Put the solution into a spray bottle. Then, simply spray the solution in the areas infested with flies. There are volatile components in vinegar that will attract the house flies. Along with eucalyptus oil, you can also add lavender oil or tea tree oil to make the remedy more powerful.

3.) Cloves to Get Rid of Flies

Clove is one of the most effective home remedies for flies. They hate the smell of cloves, which make them a potential fly repellent. You can use either clove oil or clove powder to repel all the species of flies. The process of using cloves is quite innovative as you only need to insert the cloves into an apple through their rear end. Now, keep the apple on a plate in the middle of your table. After sometimes, you will notice that flies are moving out of the house irritated by the strong smell.

Alternatively, you can wrap few cloves in normal cheesecloth and hang it close to the entrance or a place where flies usually hang out in your house. So, you can use this lemongrass oil to make your own homemade flies spray that also works as room wonderful freshener. You need to pour ten drops of lemongrass oil into the spray bottle. Now, pour some hot water over this essential oil. Shake the solution well to mix both the ingredients. Now, spray the mixture all along your doorways and windows or any other region where flies enter the house. You can even directly spray it on the flies whenever or wherever you spot them in your house. Always keep the bottle at the place where you can easily find and do the rest.
