1.) Dish Wash to Prevent Fleas

If you want to get rid of fleas, this is one of the easiest remedies. You can catch and kill the fleas by this method. Moreover, giving a bath to your pet will kill the fleas. Also, you can trap them by using a flea trap. However, a flea trap will help you to clean up your entire house with fleas.

All you need:

  • Dish wash
  • Plates or bowls
  • Candles
  • Water


  • At night, keep a plate or a bowl in each room of your house on the floor.
  • Now put water in plates. Do not overflow it
  • Now add dish wash liquid to this plates or bowl. Use a good amount of it.
  • Light a candle in the centre of each plate. If using a bowl. You can place the candle near the bowl.
  • The fleas get attracted towards the light of candles. When they roam towards the light, they will get trapped in the liquid with soap. This way, fleas will get trapped and will die.
  • Dispose of their bodies in morning.
  • Continue this remedy for 3-4 nights.

2.) Herbal Spray as Home Remedy for Fleas

An herbal spray can be the best home remedy for fleas.  It is very natural with no side effects. Moreover, you don’t need to spend lots of money on chemicals. It is entirely safe for your pet and family members.

All you need:

  • Vinegar- 1 gallon
  • Water- ½ gallon
  • Lemon juice- 500 ml
  • Witch hazel- 250 ml
  • Vacuum bag- 1
  • Home or Garden Sprayer- 1


  • First of all, collect the things that cannot be vacuumed and wash it in your washer. By doing this, it will help to kill the larvae and eggs of fleas.
  • Now vacuum the surroundings. Vacuum each corner of your house. You can change the vacuum attachments to make the process easy.
  • Now mix vinegar, water, lemon juice and witch hazel.
  • Fill this into sprayer
  • Spray this liquid.
  • Spray your carpets, furniture, windows, floors and every corner of your house.
  • Do this remedy for 2-3 days. Do it for a longer period of time if there is high flea infestation.

3.) Salt to Get Rid of Fleas

Salt is a very common ingredient. It is easily available and not so expensive. It kills the fleas by its dehydrating property. Salt dries out the body of flea making them die. Here’s what you need to do.

All you need:

  • Table salt
  • Bottle or shaker


  • First of all, grind your salt, if it is not.
  • Fill up your bottle or shaker with salt and water.
  • You can also sprinkle the salt on your carpets. Spread the salt evenly.
  • Leave for 12 to 48 hours.

4.) Boric Acid to Kill Fleas

  • Vacuum


  • Take boric acid

5.) Use Diatomaceous Earth to Control Fleas

  • Diatomaceous earth
  • Gloves
