1.) Remove the Trapped Food to Get Rid of a Toothache
This is the first step which is to be done. In a case of a toothache, clean your teeth by using a mild brush and toothpaste. The quality of brush and toothpaste should be good. Now carefully and gently do dental floss between the two teeth and dislodge any food particles. Pull the floss in to and fro motion between the two teeth. Now wash your mouth by using warm water. Spit the water out when done. Repeat this process in case proper cleaning is not done.
2.) Apply a Cold Compress to Cure Toothache
This is an another quick way to get rid of a toothache. One can use ice wrapped in a piece of cloth and apply on the jaw line of the infected area. Take 3-4 ice cubes and wrap it in the piece of cloth. Now apply it on the jaw line. Apply it for 10 to 15 minutes. Take a break and again apply for the same. The lower temperature will slow down the blood flow in the vessels and you will experience a less toothache.
3.) Salt and Pepper to Get Rid of a Toothache
Salt and pepper also help in reducing the pain. It has been proven a good element in getting rid of a toothache. Salt and pepper kill the bacteria by the process of osmosis. Take salt with some pepper and make a paste by using water or olive oil. The amount of pepper should be less than salt. Apply this paste on the infected area. It may cause some harsh sensation, but after some time it will cure the pain.

It can be used in many ways like one can take a piece of clove and keep it in the mouth for some time in an infected area and throw it away after some time. Another way is, take 2-3 cloves and make a paste by using water. Now place it against the sore area. This will work as an anesthesia and will provide a relief in a toothache. 5.) Garlic or Onion to Get Rid of a Toothache
Both garlic and onion have anti-bacterial and medicinal properties which can be effective in reducing pain. One can make a paste of garlic or onion with salt by using some amount of water and apply to the infected area. By doing so, it can cure the pain. You can also cut small pieces of onion and garlic and can also chew the clove of garlic if possible. Repeat this method for 3-4 days. It will help a lot in getting rid of a toothache.
6.) Ginger and Cayenne to Cure Toothache
Ginger and Cayenne have medicinal values that help in the curing of pain. Mix equal parts of these two spices with enough water to make a paste. Take a cotton ball and put some paste on it. Put that cotton ball in the infected area, avoiding your gums and teeth. Leave it until the pain fades or as long as you can keep it. You can also use this paste separately. Add some pinch or half teaspoon of Asafoetida and mix it with 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. Take a cotton pad and apply to the infected area. 8.) Peppermint Leaves to Prevent Toothache
Peppermint leaves can be used in the treatment of a toothache. It has many therapeutic values. During a toothache, take some fresh leaves of peppermint leaves. Wash them properly. Black pepper has an anesthesia value. It can be used to get rid of a toothache. Take some seeds of black pepper and keep in the mouth on the affected area. You can also grind some seeds and make a paste with the help of a little water. Apply this paste with the help of cotton ball in the affected area and you will get relief within a few minutes.
