They are generally brown, black, patches or flesh-colored patches or spots on the skin. Moles are formed due to the collection of the melanocytes. Melanocytes are the cells that produce pigment as the coloring substance also called melanin.
Most of the moles become visible in the age group of twenty to thirty years old. Mostly they are found in raised or flat shapes. Their appearance could be smooth or rough, with hair or without. The appearance of moles could the result of various factors like hormonal imbalance or fluctuations, genetic disorders, exposure to the sun that can affect the number of moles and their appearance. Sometimes the moles gets fade or invisible as a person grows older but not in every case. As most of the people are concerned about their appearance, here we have the easiest and effective home remedies for them to get rid of unwanted moles.
But before you go for these home remedies, you should observe or inspect the mole’s unusual characteristics like color, its diameter, and asymmetry of the border or shapes. If you observe any kind of changes in color and shapes of moles and you are not treating then you should go for a good dermatologist as they could be cancerous for you.
Home Remedies for Moles:
1.) Garlic to Get Rid of Moles
One of the best and most helpful home remedies to treat moles is garlic. It contains enzymes which help in breaking down the pigment generating cells. It also helps in lightening the dark pigmentations.
Directions:
- Put a fresh and crushed garlic glove on the mole.
- Protect it with the help of a bandage for next four hours or for all night if possible
- Repeat the same for few days. The mole will get fade of itself naturally. Through this process, you can get rid of unwanted moles in approx. five days of regular application.
- Before you repeat the process daily make sure to sterilize the area of application, you can use disinfectants like rubbing alcohol or any other disinfectant.
- You need to make sure that the area of skin close to mole by applying some oil or petroleum jelly.
- NOTE: there are chances of irritation and redness on skin after applying garlic.
2.) Apple Cider Vinegar to Remove Moles
Apple cider vinegar contains acid which helps to get rid of the mole and make it fall off naturally. So it’s an easy and effective home remedy for moles treatment.
Directions:
- Place a cotton ball dipped well in apple cider vinegar on the mole. Protect it with dressing, medical tape or bandage and do not remove the same for the night. This is a ten days process but can take a few days more in some cases to make it fall off.
- Rub warm water directly on a mole or you can scrape lightly the part with the help of emery board and then apply apple cider vinegar over the area until it appears white in color. Leave it for drying naturally. Repeat same process several times daily. This is an alternative solution to get rid of moles problem.
- Use of apple vinegar makes the mole bad in first few days, but later in a week it will get recover, in case it leaves a scar ,you can use coconut oil for it.
- Note: You should use petroleum jelly before applying the apple cider vinegar on the area surrounding mole.
3.) Castor Oil to Remove Moles
Castor oil is also effective in removing skin tags, warts, and moles, it helps in softening and removing odd growths. This process is expected not to leave scars but you may need patience as this process can take more time.
Directions:
- A dash of baking soda with some drops of castor oil, ground aspirin also works with this.
- Rub that mixture slowly on the mole.
- Leave it for drying naturally.
- Repeat the same process daily twice for a month.
- In case if u don’t have baking soda you can use castor oil only.
4.) Flaxseed Oil to Get Rid of Moles
This oil is mostly used for removal of raised moles. Flaxseed makes it soft and loosens it and removes it naturally. It is one of the easy to available ingredient and does not have any harsh effect on the skin as well.
Directions:
- Mix flaxseed oil with honey and lightly grounded flax seeds to make a paste of mixture.
- Apply the paste on the mole and leave it for an hour or more.
- Repeat the same process thrice a day for some weeks.
5.) Iodine to Get Rid of Moles
A hint of iodine is also helpful in removal of skin tags and moles.it results in usual cell death and elimination of clusters. Iodine tincture is easily available at drug stores.
Directions:
- If the mole is flat you can scratch it gently with the help of emery board before you apply the iodine tincture. Use five percent iodine solutions and apply a drop of it on the mole.
- Protect it with the help of gauze or a dressing and leave it for the night or as much as possible.
- Repeat the same process for one to two weeks.
- In case you want to avoid bandage then we recommend you to use the solution at least two to three times daily and leave it to dry completely.
- Important: Iodine doesn’t leave the scars behind but there is a possibility of deep purple stain on the skin. To avoid the same you can use petroleum jelly or lotion on the skin area near the mole to protect the skin from spots.
6.) Pineapple Juice to Get Rid of Moles
To lighten the moles and pigmentation around you can use the juice of fresh pineapple also as it makes them less visible. Pineapple is a nice home remedy for moles.
Directions:
- Dip a cotton ball in fresh pineapple juice and keep it on the mole.
- Leave it for the night or until it dries completely.
- Repeat the same number of times daily for some weeks or until the mole fades away.
- To get the most effective result use only fresh juice of pineapple daily. Pineapple contains a good amount of citric acid. There are other juices also which are acidic in nature like lemon juice, sour apple juice or grapefruit juice.
7.) Grapefruit Seed Extract to Remove Moles
Grapefruit seed extracts are rich source of flavonoids and vitamin E which makes it an effective and natural home remedy for moles treatment.
Directions:
- Apply a single drop of it on the mole, wrap it with the help of bandage or dressing and leave the same for next few hours. Repeat two to three times daily for a month
- There is an alternative solution for this also, you can apply the mixture of, ten parts of avocado oil with one part of grapefruit seed extract on the mole and leave the same for next ten to fifteen minutes, repeat the process on daily basis until you get the desired result
8.) Onion Juice to Get Rid of Moles
Onion juice also helps in a treatment of moles. It maintains a smooth skin tone due to its acidic nature. Onions are easily available at the grocery shops.
Directions:
- Apply freshly extracted juice of onion on affected area with the help of cotton. Let it sit at least for half an hour or more than rinse it off with water. Repeat the process twice or thrice a day for minimum three weeks.
- Another solution is a combination of apple cider juice with fresh onion juice. Leave it for the night or minimum for half an hour. Repeat the mentioned process for one month or until the mole fades properly.
9.) Frankincense to Get Rid of Moles
As frankincense essential oil is a good astringent in nature, it helps to remove moles layer by layer. It dries up the mole and removes it naturally.
Directions:
- Make dilution of a teaspoon full of frankincense essential oil with eight full teaspoons of good quality olive oil.
- Pat it gently on the affected area and leave the same for next few hours.
- Repeat twice or thrice daily for few weeks.
- To avoid scars, keep the process continue for a few days more even after the success of treatment.
- Important: this remedy can cause common problems like skin irritation. in this case do not continue the process
10.) Aloe Vera to Get Rid of moles
As Aloe Vera contains no acids it works as an excellent natural home remedy for lightening or removing the affected part. You either use its juice or jel to remove the mole
Directions:
- Take fresh gel of Aloe Vera and apply on the affected area and cover it with dressing or cotton bandage.
- Leave it for absorbing completely at least for three to four hours.
- You need to repeat the same twice or thrice a day for one month or until you get the desired results.
Before you go for these above-mentioned remedies, you need to make sure your skin is not responsive to the tough ingredients like apple cider vinegar or garlic. If it causes skin irritation or other problems discontinue the use of remedy immediately.
