How to Stop a Toothache?

Though you should go to a dentist or some professionals to restore the tooth and fight the pain. If it is not immediately available, try some home remedies to stop a toothache.

1.) Asafetida to Prevent a Toothache

Asafetida works as a powerful remedy to prevent a toothache. It is very useful when we talk about dental problems. Asafetida relives the bleeding gums, toothache and cavities. It kills the germs by antibiotic properties. This spice is easily available and is cost friendly. To try this remedy, take half a teaspoon of asafetida powder. Make its paste with a few drops of water. Now apply this paste on the affected area with the help of cotton or fingers. Keep it for some time. Alternatively, you can make a peppermint tea. All you need to do is take some peppermint leaves and boil them in a cup of water. You can also add some black pepper, clove powder to make it more effective. Now drink it to cure the pain, inflammation of the tooth. This is a natural remedy with no side effects.

2.) Ginger to Prevent a Toothache

Ginger is a very famous herb known for its efficient properties. It is antibacterial and antifungal in nature. It helps to relieve the pain. Because of its analgesic properties, it helps to cure the dental problems. Moreover, ginger consists of a compound called allicin, which is responsible for killing the bacteria. To apply this remedy take a small piece of ginger. Cut it into small pieces and boil it. Now you can drink this liquid slowly. Drink it from that side of your mouth where you are having excess pain. 3.) Peppermint to Cure a Toothache

To try this remedy all you need to do is take some fresh peppermint leaves. Boil them in a cup of water. Now strain the solution. Drink it sip by sip. 4.) Lemon to Stop a Toothache

Lemon is very effective and consists of vitamin C, some amount of vitamin B, pantothenic acid. The acidic content of the lemon helps to cure the pain and inflammation in the body. To try this remedy all you need to do is take lemon by different means.  One can make a lemon tea in a warm water. It’s a choice to add honey in it. 5.) Baking Soda to Treat a Toothache

Baking Soda can also help to stop a toothache. It helps in cleaning of the mouth and prevents from further bacterial attack. Baking soda is alkaline in nature. It kills the infection causing bacteria by maintaining the proper pH. It is very efficient and simple method. Take one tablespoon of baking soda and mix it with water to make a paste. Now take a cotton ball and put some paste on it and apply it on the infected area. If you don’t want to place a cotton ball, you can also use a solution of baking soda in water and rinse your mouth with the solution.

6.) Salt Water to Treat a Toothache

Using a salt water is an effective remedy to treat a toothache. Salt is alkaline in nature. It has the potency to kill the germs. Thus the analgesic properties of salt can relieve you from pain. Also, it is helpful in removing the debris of food and cleans your mouth. It is very useful when it comes to oral hygiene. To try this remedy, take half a teaspoon of salt. Mix it with warm water. Now swish this water in your mouth several times. Do this until your glass becomes empty. Alternatively, you can put some salt on a cotton swab. Now keep it on the infected tooth. Do this remedy at least twice a day to stop a toothache.

7.) Ice to Stop a Toothache

Ice is very effective in curing the toothache.  Due to its low temperatures, it numbs the area and relieves the pain. The blood flow in the vessels slows down and relieves the pain. Moreover, it is easily available and easy to use. Ice is also helpful in killing the bacteria by lowering down its temperature. To use this remedy take a piece of ice and apply it on the cheek of the paining side. Alternatively, you can put a piece of ice in your mouth. 8.) Hydrogen Peroxide to Avoid a Toothache

Hydrogen peroxide is a powerful remedy against the treatment of a toothache. It kills the germs and bacteria in the tooth. Also, it is very helpful in treating the cavity. As we all know cavity occurs due to the debris of food. It breaks up to form acid. Hydrogen peroxide is alkaline in nature and it prevents the acid formation. To apply this remedy, take around half a teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide. Mix it in a half litre of water. You can squish this liquid in your mouth over and over. Alternatively, you can apply this water with the help of a cotton ball on your cavity. Do this remedy regularly to avoid a toothache.

9.) Clove to Cure a Toothache

Clove is essential to cure a toothache. It consists of the substance called eugenol, which is a powerful antiseptic and painkiller. Clove helps to numb the affected area and therefore it relieves the pain from the tooth. It also suppresses the pain receptors and blocks the sensation of pain. To try this remedy, take some pieces of clove. Crush them to make its paste. Now apply this paste on the affected area. Keep it for 1 hour. Do not eat anything in the meanwhile. Alternatively, you can apply clove oil on the cavity. Do this remedy for some days. It will surely give you positive results.

10.) Onion to Cure a Toothache

You can also try onion to cure the problem of a toothache. It has analgesic properties. Onion consists of sulphur,  which is very helpful to get rid of pain, inflammation and bacteria. To try this remedy, take out some onion juice and with the help of cotton ball apply on the affected tooth. This is a powerful remedy with no side effects.
