Additional Tips

  • Apart from above remedies, you can also apply white toothpaste or a regular zero-menthol shaving cream on your affected skin area.
  • You should not apply butter, oil, petroleum jelly, to a burnt skin as it may trap the heat rather than drawing it out.
  • It is said that ice application can help in giving relief but it is generally not suggested as it tends to hamper the healing process.
  • In case your wound develops blisters then avoid popping the blisters as it may increase the chances of getting an infection.
  • Avoid using adhesive dressings on the burn.
  • Protect your burnt skin from friction.
  • Avoid exposing the affected area to a sun.
